Sorry, this item has sold.

These unique one of a kind earrings are handcrafted from copper sheet, vitreous enamel (pigmented powdered glass) and sterling silver.

First, the shape is created from copper. It is then hand filed to remove any rough edges.
Holes are drilled and filed smooth.

Vitreous enamel is sifted onto the copper and fired in a kiln at 1460° Farenheit. The process is repeated multiple times on each side with different colors to fuse the glass to the copper and create the design. The sides are sanded. The enamel pieces are etched for a matte finish.

Sterling silver wire is used to create the ear wires and rest of design. The design is soldered. The ear wires are 20 gauge.
Liver of sulfur is used to create the darkened appearance. It is buffed and a round bur is used to smooth ends of ear wires.

These are slate gray and bitter green. The enameled piece is approximately 1" in length and 5/8: at widest point. They hang about 2.75." including ear wires. The widest part of the silver circle is approximately. 75".

The earrings are packaged in a cotton filled gift box and a padded envelope.
