These kinetic abstract earrings are lightweight and fun to wear. They are handcrafted from steel, vitreous enamel (pigmented powdered glass) and hypoallergenic niobium ear wires.
Vitreous enamel (powdered pigmented glass) is sifted onto the steel and fired in a kiln at 1460° Farenheit. The process is repeated multiple times. The earrings are handpainted with watercolor enamels and fired after each application. This fuses the glass to the steel. The glass is etched for a matte finish.
The glass flower hangs from brass wire.
Niobium wire is used to create the ear wires. The ear wires are 20 gauge.
These are very light and comfortable to wear. The enameled piece is approximately 5/8" wide and 2" in length. They hang about 3.5" including the glass flower and ear wires.
The earrings are packaged in a cotton filled gift box and a padded envelope.
